Duo arrested on heroin charges

IREDELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV)- Two people
were arrested during an undercover investigation into Heroin distribution in
the Iredell County area.

Edward Daniel Patchett, 42, and Brianna Helene Barry, 23, of Cleveland (Rowan
County) were arrested and charged with Trafficking Schedule 1 by Sale,
Trafficking Schedule 1 by Possession, and Trafficking Schedule 1 by Transport.

Both were
placed in the Iredell County Detention Center. Patchett received a $200,000
bond, and Barry received a $253,000 bond.

Detectives received a tip about Patchett's involvement in a Heroin distribution
operation in the Statesville area.

Undercover officers say they made multiple purchases, totaling seven grams of
Heroin, from Patchett and Barry was implicated during the investigation.

Officials
with the Iredell County Sheriff's Office said the street value of the Heroin,
if sold by Bindle or dosage unit, is $14,000.

The
investigation is ongoing; detectives expect more arrests to come.
