MOORESVILLE, NC (WBTV)- The Iredell Health Department said Tuesday that a rabid dog captured in Mooresville eight days ago never posed any danger to the public.
The dog was located in the area of Ervin Ranch Lance off Mackwood Road. It was a family dog and 12 members of the family were exposed and treated for rabies.
At the time of capture, the Iredell Health Department alerted residents in the area to keep themselves and pets away from stray animals and wildlife. Tuesday, officials said the dog never posed a danger to the public.
