Women wanted for scamming elderly victim, police say | Crime

STATESVILLE - Statesville Police are looking for two women they say scammed an elderly person out of $2,000.

According to police, the two women who scammed their victim by using the found-wallet-with-money-con were caught on video.

The incident happened last Friday at the Walmart at Crossroads Center in Statesville.

The duo claimed to have found a wallet with a large amount of money in it and no I.D., detectives said.  They convinced the elderly victim to put up money of their own to get a share of the larger amount of money.
